The programme covers scaffold components, materials, construction features, foundations, ties, bracing, working platforms, guardrails, toe boards, safe access and egress, applicable regulations and inspection procedures. Learners develop the ability to identify unsafe conditions, record defects, recommend appropriate action and understand when a scaffold must not be used pending competent assessment or remedial work.
The qualification is intended for construction site supervisors, managers, inspectors and other experienced personnel who are responsible for checking basic scaffolds for safe use.
