Course Overview
The HiQual UK Level 3 Diploma in Oilfield Roustabout Operations is designed to develop occupational knowledge and practical understanding of roustabout duties within offshore oil and gas installations, drilling rigs and associated oilfield environments.
The qualification focuses on deck operations, materials handling, lifting-support activities, drilling equipment preparation, tubular handling, workplace housekeeping, basic maintenance support, hazard control, environmental protection and emergency procedures. Learners develop an understanding of how roustabouts support drilling teams, maintain safe working areas, handle equipment and supplies, report defects and follow established operational instructions.
The programme is intended to support entry into oilfield-related work and further occupational training. It emphasises safe working practices, teamwork, procedural compliance and the importance of performing assigned tasks within the limits of a worker's training and authorization.
This is a proposed HiQual UK qualification design. It does not automatically confer OPITO certification, offshore survival certification, rigging competence or authorization to perform safety-critical tasks independently.
